View Full Version : How does Nocster/Burst deal with inappropriate content ?

At present I have 150 clients on the server growing quickly. I'm very happy with Nocster and I will order more servers soon.

However, since I get more and more customers I can not review the content on my server (legally I am not obligated to do this) and I wonder if someone uploads warez or sends spam - how will Nocster deal with that ?

For me it would be acceptable if they would suspend just that hosting account on my server which contains the inappropriate content. It would also be alright if they deleted the inappropriate content from the server.
However it would not be ok if they shut down the whole server along with all other 300 clients on that server because I really don't want that every client on the server has the power to shut down the server by uploading warez. I don't want my clients to get angry and they probably would get angry if their server was down just because someone had Warez on his accounts. Beeing just a small host I want the same chances like 1 and 1 etc. and they will not have 300 clients shut down if one of them hosts warez.

Please let me know... this is really important for me !

First open a ticket as you could wait sometime to get a real answer.

I think it depends on the tech. I found some to instant turn box off and otheres who work with you.

I would hope that they would just email the box owner and say please remove these files from you server.

Then give the like 1-3 hours to do so.

Depending on the severity of the offense, we will contact you ahead of time. Generally, either our Abuse dept. or Customer service will email you a few times. As long as you respond and take care of it yourself, we will not get involved. However, if we get no response after multiple tries, we will suspend the server as a whole. We do not remove individual sites unless asked to by the server owner.
If you have further questions on this, please contact our customer service.

Sounds acceptable... However, if you suspend the whole box - will I get a chance to get the server back online ? And how long will that take ?

I had a box that was running something not allowed last friday ( clients box ). I could not get it back until monday afternoon. The tech pulled it and I never had a chance to log into the box and remove it.

I do stand by them 100% about things should not be run, but think if you guys suspend a box on a friday, then burst should have somebody there to deal with getting it back online, not have to wait until monday.

normally they email reseller..... the worst thing which happen is if anything goes wrong on FRIDAY evening its bad as CSM aint around at that time. On the other hand u can ask support nicely to check with ceo or CSM about the issue and see if its resolveable and they may just do it :)

That is a case by case basis. All I can say is make sure to respond to any emails you get from us about violations, and it will not become an issue.
