Arrow Nov 5, 2003 - DOS attack 11:23 EST - current (16:44 EST)

On Nov 5, 2003, at 11:23 EST BurstNET Network became a target of another multi-hundred megabit DOS attack. At 11:30 network had been reconfigured for "attack" profile.

The attack is still continuing though at the present time certain additional changes to the network achitecture had sucessfully reduced the effect of the attack. The changes had been added to the default "attack" profile.

We are currently working on corelating the flow data that we had been silently collecting over last week with certain other information that we have.

Be assured that when this pile of data gets processed, those behind it will have a pleasure of seeing process servers.

At 17:40 EST BurstNET had added additional capacity to better handle attacks such as the one we are in the middle of right now. At the present time we are still dealing with the traffic level three times the normal.
